Another school year is upon us, and that means our chapter is getting ready for an amazing school year filled with GlobeMed goodness!
Our GROW interns have returned from a five week trip to Uganda where they helped build the house and pit latrine for a widowed mother and her three children affected by HIV/AIDS using the funds that our chapter helped raise last school year. Our interns experienced daily life in Uganda, were able to work closely with and personally meet our partners, ICOD Action Network, experience village life and Ugandan culture and helped build the brick house for this family. These experiences were life-changing and only reinforce the need in these communities for sustainable housing and universal health rights. Blog posts from our interns during their trip can be read here: http://growasu.wordpress.com/
Our e-board is going to our Fall Retreat next week, where we will plan out our chapter’s goals for the next year and prepare for strengthening our chapter’s mission in new and exciting ways.
We will be at our next event, Passport to ASU, held at the Sun Devil Fitness complex 6:30-9pm. Come stop by our booth for more information, GlobeMed goodies, or just to say hi! Stay tuned and visit our Twitter or Facebook accounts as well to keep up to date!
